Day 1 - Singles Qualifying: 10th Vacasa Pro Women's Open at Sea Colony



The highly anticipated return of the Vacasa Pro Women's Open at Sea Colony is finally here after a three-year hiatus! With perfect weather conditions setting the stage for a day of intense competition, this $25,000 USTA Pro Circuit tournament welcomes 32 players from four different countries competing all week-long. On day one, eight players automatically secured their spots in the singles qualifying finals, leaving eight thrilling qualifying matches that took place today.

Day 1 standouts include Cupucine Jauffret, from Wilmington, DE, who won her opening round of qualifying 6-0, 6-2 over Dylan Cline, the number 10 seed. Miss Jauffret is 15 years old and is currently one of the top 10 under 18 players in the United States. This was Miss Jauffret's debut on the professional circuit, and we look forward to seeing her grow at this level. In the most competitive match of the day, Hana Evans of the United States, defeated Natalia Escobar of Paraguay 4-6, 6-0, (10-5).


With generous sponsorship from Vacasa, along with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), UBS Financial, and the supportive Sea Colony community, the excitement continues to build at this exhilarating singles and doubles tournament. Spanning through Sunday, this event attracts women tennis players from both national and international rankings, all vying for valuable world ranking points and a portion of the impressive prize payout.


Tuesday’s action kicks off at 9:30am with the singles qualifying finals, followed by the first round of singles and doubles main draw play. Admission is free to all matches and the public is invited to spectate! Join us on Saturday, May 20 for the doubles final and Sunday, May 21 for the singles finals.
